Happy Halloween to all who celebrate although maybe it’s more like Merry Christmas because it’s my second post in as many weeks. Who am I? A proper substacker? This one’s quick + really just because I was already putting together a social post so thought it’d be nice to wrap it all up with a bow and a post.

I had a mom stop into the store yesterday looking for Fazit face freckles because, as she admitted, that was all the effort she could give this year and I felt that in my bones. Halloween’s not my holiday, perhaps because I grew up in Michigan + every Halloween costume involved a snowsuit. Princess doesn’t hit the same when you have to wear a puffy jacket, hat + gloves.

My son’s not super into Halloween either, although he’s much more stoked this year since his costume involves his very own green bin. He’s a garbage man + I paid someone on Etsy no small sum of money to make him a custom safety vest + spray paint a kitchen garbage bin green. They clearly know their target audience.

For all of you reading this at 9am the morning of Halloween panicking because Instacart can’t locate any cat ears last minute to ship to your door (me : yesterday), have no fear. Here are four costume ideas you can throw together with things you (hopefully) already have in your closet.

A Princess

an oversized vintage inspired running wylder fleece (obvs), bonzer katy glasses, pruzan tight shorts, hansel from basel socks, diadora cellulas
And by ‘princess’ I mean, Di, obviously. All you need is an oversized crew (preferably vintage), bike shorts, retro sneakers + tall socks. Done + done.

A Spooky Cat

All seamless so it’s extra sleek. Seamless top + tights by Circle, bonzer oxford sunglasses (slight cat eye…get it?), adidas sl72 sneakers, cat ears optional.

A Gym Teacher

vintage running tee (this one’s so good i can’t believe it’s still available), relax lacrosse shorts, hansel from basel socks, diadora equipe shoes, sweatbands + whistle optional.

A Space Creature

this is a nod to my costume today - minus the headband. SAYSKY reflective 1/2 zip, lululemon reflective running shorts, fazit silver freckles, new balance 1906R, UNNA sunnies. obvious alt to the silver new balances would be the RAD UFO.
